The Jersey Shore’s Most Stately Resort

Steeped in over 100 years of storied history, the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club takes guests on a trip to a bygone era when style, elegance and grandeur took center stage. The stately resort has hosted presidents, sports icons, and celebrities, including The Rolling Stones, who stayed at the Seaview in 1989 in the midst of their Steel Wheels Tour.

Ideally located near the bay in the quaint town of Galloway, New Jersey, only eight miles inland from Atlantic City, the Seaview’s grace and sophistication offers discerning guests a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the “Gaming Capital of the East.”

The Seaview, a Dolce property, first opened in 1914 as an exclusive country club and golf retreat catering to business executives. In 2011, a multi-million dollar renovation began of the property’s golf, dining, meeting and event venues while paying tribute to the historical significance of the resort’s architectural standards, elegant accommodations and grandiose style.

Located on 67 wooded acres along a scenic bay, the Seaview is the quintessential seaside resort. Situated just 45 minutes from Philadelphia, this exquisite, turn-of-the century resort is easily accessible from several major metropolitan areas, yet offers a peaceful, pristine, retreat-like setting.

Seaview Presidential Ballroom

The Seaview provides guests with an array of modern amenities. From the elegant lobby to the 296 well-appointed guest rooms to the state-of-the-art meeting facilities, guests and business travelers alike will feel welcome, comfortable and well-connected. The resort’s grand lobby, with its high back leather chairs and grand piano, is sandwiched in between the Coastal Grille Room – where guests congregate for dinner and drinks – and a lounge area complete with a mahogany bar, a favorite gathering spot at night. With its pristine setting, the Seaview is a perfect venue for a coastal destination wedding and hosts more than 90 wedding and receptions each year.

Sea View Golf Course

Widely recognized as one of the finest golf facilities in the country, the Seaview received the honor of hosting the prestigious PGA Championship in 1942 and is currently home to the LPGA ShopRite Classic. Guests can enjoy a round of golf at either the links styled Bay Course or the forest lined Pines Course. Despite its impressive pedigree, the Seaview Golf Club caters to golfers of all ability levels. Director of Golf Brian Rashley says, ‘We are proud of the fact that our courses can accommodate both the serious, experienced golfer and also the novice.”

Seaview Main Dining Room

However, superb golfing is not the only reason people visit the Seaview. The resort was once known throughout the region for its bountiful seafood buffet on Friday nights. Although that tradition went away, their lavish Sunday Brunch now fills that void. With five different entrees that are seasonally and locally inspired, Sunday Brunch also features a salad bar and chef inspired composed salads, a made to order egg station, and a dessert action station which is either bananas foster or cherries jubilee. Held in the elegant Main Dining Room, guests are treated to the sounds of a grand piano as they dine. During the week and weekends breakfast and lunch are offered in the Main Dining Room, while supper is served in the quaint Coastal Grille.

Seaview Sea Bass

Rudy Correa, now in his second year as Executive Chef, infuses fresh, local ingredients into an array of tantalizing flavors. Begin your dinner with Small Plates, which include a delightful combination of savory samples. Delaware Oyster Shooters and Great Bay Clams Casino, most likely harvested that day from the Great Bay only a few miles away, are mouth watering. A guest favorite, Spicy Ahi Tuna Tartar, is a perfect balance between hot and cool. Correa uses locally caught tuna belly, red onions, chive and sriracha mayo topped by julienne slices of apple. It’s a simple dish with complex flavors. Entrees are highlighted by succulent pan seared scallops spread over a bed of blueberry quinoa bolstered by a touch of cilantro. The Sea Bass is out of this world. Correa’s culinary philosophy is succinct. “We try to prepare food that is both healthy and thoughtful,” he explains.

The Seaview, with its venerable history, is surely a New Jersey Shore landmark that continues to set the standard for excellence among coastal resorts.
