There’s a lot of construction going on around the City of Angels currently and we’re excited about the great new hotels springing up. Here’s a rundown of five of the new luxury hotels opening within the coming year that we’re excited about.
Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills
The Waldorf Astoria is set to be completed in 2017 and will give the longstanding Beverly Hilton some competition when it launches just adjacent to the property in Beverly Hills.
The new 12-story luxury hotel will be on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards and have 170 rooms. It will be the brand’s first new build on the West Coast and will join the legendary Waldorf Astoria portfolio of 24 hotels and resorts.
The nine-acre property will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind hospitality destination with lushly landscaped grounds and gardens, will feature a triple-height lobby with a contemporary Art Deco design, hand-painted murals of California landscapes and custom chandeliers. Each of the guestrooms will feature unrivaled views and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto oversized private balconies, comfortably furnished and landscaped to create a Beverly Hills Lanai that brings the outdoors inside.
On the third level, spacious Villa Suites will open onto manicured private garden terraces. The rooftop pool deck will be the largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills and will include landscaping, VIP cabanas, lounge areas and a swimming pool specifically for hotel guests.
The holiday season will be complete with the opening of the eagerly anticipated Japanese Inn, Nobu Ryokan, this December. The boutique property has just 18 rooms making it one of the most exclusive places to stay in Malibu. Nestled along Carbon Beach (also known as Billionaire’s Beach), this ocean side hotel is owned by Larry Ellison, Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro.
This cool boutique hotel brand is opening it doors for the first time in LA. The hotel, which will be in a Mid-Century Modern style has just under 200 rooms a huge 11,000 square-foot rooftop and will be nestled in the Cahuenga area of Hollywood. The Rockwell Group are behind this latest offering – they are the ones behind trendy cowering space NeueHouse on Sunset.
The Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown
When The Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown finally opens in 2017 as part of the Wilshire Grand Center, it will be the tallest building on the west coast.
The 900-room property will include a sky lobby on the 70th floor of the 73-story property giving amazing views, a selection of restaurants, meeting spots and a spa.
This hotel is just the latest investment to bring more development to the downtown making it a great destination for business or pleasure.
The James West Hollywood
The junction of Sunset and LaCienega in West Hollywood will never be the same when The James West Hollywood brings its cool boutique hotel to the neighborhood.
With a selection of 286 guest rooms and suites, bungalow suites, two Penthouse lofts, a restaurant, rooftop lounge and a round the clock fitness center, there will be something for everyone at this new property.
Art lovers will also delight in the curated collection from local and international artists. WeHo residents love their dogs and so their pet program will also be popular along with their urban wellness offerings, complimentary local car service and coffee and cocktail bar.
