Celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year, the property set on over 440 acres of colorful natural landscape, has just 32 Mediterranean-style villas, each with a sun deck or private balcony, so you can enjoy the Cali sunshine without leaving your room.

Villas are designed with European antique decor and the most divine triple-sheeted Frette linens swathe you in such comfort that you will not want to get out of bed. But you must.. because there are so many fun things to experience here.

The three-, four- and seven-night packages include gourmet spa cuisine, exercise classes, beauty and spa treatments, mind and body awareness programs, themed weeks and nutrition lectures combining European spa philosophies with California health and fitness concepts.

Days start off with a challenging group hike before a delicious breakfast is served using fare grown on the property – including honey from their own bee hives! There are over 150 fitness classes to choose from and guests can also enjoy swimming in an Olympic sized pool, tennis and a round of golf on the 18-hole golf course.

But it’s not all work – Cal-a-Vie has its own vineyard producing a delicious Chateau Cal-a-Vie Grande Vin Rouge that you can enjoy while overlooking the amazing landscape of well-manicured paths and colorful flowers and a slight hint of lavender as you breeze past. They only serve tastings and host occasional food & wine weeks. They sell the wine in their gift shop but do not serve it during meals.

And for places of solitude, find time to visit the 400-year-old chapel and l’orangerie that the owners imported from Dijon, France.
