Another New York transplant has hit the West Coast dining scene and made a big splash at the new Platform retail, fashion, and dining complex in Culver City. Now while you are waiting for a Metro to take you downtown or to the beach, you can indulge in meat-focused fare from this acclaimed butcher shop and restaurant – Cannibal Beer & Butcher.
The crew practices nose-to-tail butchery while making their own sausages and charcuterie in house, which is also on display at the bar for free during happy hour every day from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The industrial chic design is by Studio MAI (Gjelina, Hinoki & The Bird), with plenty of pale wooden furniture amid tall leather banquettes.
This proves to be the perfect laid-back setting to start sampling close to 500 beers spanning the craft-brewery globe, available by the glass. If you are visiting during daylight hours, be sure to try their sandwich shop next door for a grab-and-go special of the day.
