Hollywood’s most sought after clairvoyant, medium, and medical intuitive has spent much of his young life filled with the desire to help others. Born and raised in the small town of Hanford, California, Tyler Henry dreamed of becoming a hospice nurse. However, subtle indications throughout his childhood suggested his ability to provide connections and closure with the deceased.
After a series of life-changing events — including a near-death experience — Tyler recognized that his passion, calling, and life purpose was to bring clarity and resolution to those he was privileged to read. Word of his talents spread so quickly that 20-year-old Tyler relocated to Los Angeles to better serve his new clientele. Those buzz-worthy celebrities include Amber Rose, Khloe Kardashian, Monica Potter, Jaime Pressly, Margaret Cho, and Tom Arnold. In season two of his hit E! series, “Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry,” the young medium will sit down to read for Kris Jenner, Melissa Joan Hart, Tori Spelling, Whitney Port, and other stars.
Tyler will soon add “author” to his impressive resume when his first book is released this fall. “Between Two Worlds” is a memoir about his journey, both in Hollywood and as a medium, coming out in hardcover and eBook formats. Published by Simon & Schuster imprint, Gallery Books, it will be available November 1, 2016.
This rising star revealed to BELLA some insights on life in his home state.
Best thing about living in LA?
It’s vicinity to the beach! It’s the one place I decompress the most; it’s easy to forget it’s only 20 minutes away.
Favorite LA restaurant?
Vitello’s in Studio City. As a cheese lover, I think they have the best fried mozzarella. I’ve yet to find better!
Studio City would be my favorite area of LA. It’s laid back and perfect for hanging out on a Sunday afternoon. You’d think I was the “Studio City Medium” for the number of excuses I find to go eat or shop there!
The best part of my job is…
Getting to show people that despite what makes us different, we all fundamentally search for the same basic fulfillments from life. Being able to contribute to someone’s sense of contentment through closure makes me feel like I’m living my purpose.
A visit to LA isn’t complete until…
You drive down Pacific Coast Highway and pay a visit to Malibu.
Paradise Cove in Malibu. It’s off the beaten path, so it’s quiet and low-key.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
“You teach people how to treat you by what you tolerate.” Grasping this idea and firmly implementing it into my life has changed every relationship I have for the better.
Your one “must-have” beauty or fashion item?
My go-to beauty product is Le-Mieux eye firming masks. They’re cooling on the face and are much cuter than an ice pack.
How do you define beauty?
I equate people’s true beauty to their willingness to be vulnerable and unapologetically themselves while still maintaining compassion. Being able to have kindness toward yourself and others while still sticking to who you are is truly beautiful.
Favorite hiking spot?
My favorite hiking spots are definitely along the Malibu Coast. You can’t go wrong in Malibu.
Favorite weekend getaway?
Palm Springs. I love going there to unwind between filming and I enjoy all the gorgeous landscapes.
