Holiday Cooking Class with Chef Nathan Lingle

Saturday, November 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the time to eat, drink and be merry as Chef Nathan Lingle steps participants through easy holiday party success. He will share three different methods for cooking a turkey to perfection and help guests create both traditional and non-traditional sides. The resort’s resident mixologist will whip up the perfect holiday concoction to wow holiday sippers. To continue the culinary journey, attendees will receive a special edition recipe book as well as a custom-designed apron. It’s the perfect way to plan a holiday gathering and have fun doing it. $98 per person. Space is limited.

Santa by the Sea Christmas Tree Lighting

Sunday, December 3, from 3 to 6 p.m.; tree lighting at 5 p.m.

This is an annual Del Mar Village tradition. This Christmas tree will shine its lights in the heart of Del Mar throughout the season. There will be cookies, cocoa and Chef’s famous bisque shooters. Attendees are invited to share the holiday spirit by bringing a new teddy bear for a child in need. Complimentary admission.

Make Your Own Gingerbread House

Saturday, December 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A great way to start a family tradition that will carry on for generations! Each parent-child team receives handmade gingerbread pieces to assemble and decorate under the expert guidance of the resort’s pastry team. The family decorates their own special house with colorful gumdrops, marshmallows and an array of festive candies. Gingerbread house building can be challenging, so while builders are working, they’ll be able to enjoy a Hot Cocoa Bar with housemade marshmallows and an assortment of toppings, yummy holiday cookies, decadent mini tarts and cheesecakes, satisfying breakfast pastries and festive bubbles for the grownups. $125 for each parent-child team, $50 for additional team member (includes additional house). Parent must accompany children under 16. 

Story Time with Bergie the Elf at KITCHEN 1540’s Fireplace
Saturday, December 23, at 7 p.m.

Kids don their favorite holiday pajamas and join L’Auberge Del Mar’s elf Bergie as he reads a Christmas tale to send the little ones off to the Land of Nod. There will be hot cocoa and a holiday sweet treat. After story time, little ones will scamper off with sugarplums dancing in their heads. Complimentary to guests.

Christmas Eve Extra

Rooms with children are given a Magical Key to hang on their doorknob, so Santa doesn’t get lost.

2017 Holiday Dining at L’Auberge Del Mar

Acclaimed Chef Nathan Lingle of KITCHEN 1540 will be preparing a Thanksgiving Three-Course Dinner full of fall flavors, and on Christmas Day he’ll be pleasing palates with a gourmet, winter-inspired meal complete with seasonal desserts. New Year’s Eve at the resort brings a six-course feast with wine pairing options and then a trip to The Living Room for live entertainment. And on Saturday, December 16, and Sunday, December 17, L’Auberge Del Mar’s coastal-inspired Tea by the Sea near the fireplace in The Living Room is always a holiday tradition for guests to remember.
