Private Jet Service Makes The World’s Most Beautiful Island Even More Fabulous

Bora, Bora, called “ the most beautiful island in the world ” by ‘Tales of the South Pacific’ author, James Michener – spellbinds one and all. French Polynesia’s “ Pearl of the Pacific ” displays an exotic world where pristine beaches rim luminous lagoons with coral gardens, tropical fish and palm-crowned inlets. This alluring isle attracts royals, glitterati and all lovers of serenity, privacy and beauty to its spectacular aesthetic.

What could be more romantic than gazing at the vivid aquamarine lagoon, azure sky and mystical Mount Otemanu from your luxurious overwater bungalow. The Four Seasons, Bora Bora’s premier resort, has just made that experience even more fabulous, offering private jet charters from Los Angeles directly to Bora Bora, in partnership with Aircraft Logix. This is great news for those seeking a seamless flight to Paradise, instead of the usual commercial airline flight from Los Angeles to the island of Tahiti then on to Bora Bora by the prop plane of the islands’ domestic carrier.

The luxe service includes VIP seating with a cushy couch and club area, cocktails, first-class dining plus a wide array of entertainment. Guests arrive relaxed, refreshed and ready to take in nature’s splendor. You can either have an exclusive private charter year round, or a shared private charter over select dates through 2017 including a spring break charter April 13-20 and a festive charter in December with special Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners and celebrations. Exciting and innovative lifestyle themed private charters highlighting romance, culinary and wellness are scheduled as well.

The Four Seasons Resort is set on one of Bora Bora’s outer motus, (islets) a vast tropical grove with lush foliage replete with coconut palms and pandanus trees. Accommodations include stunning overwater bungalow suites with arguably, the best vistas in French Polynesia.

I passed endless hours on my deck the sight of Mt. Otemanu across the way, lolling in my plunge pool and taking dips in the turquoise lagoon below. And oh those spectacular sunsets and starry night skies. Handsomely decorated bungalows are spacious, made of local timber and volcanic stone with thatched roofs and indigenous art work. All have large decks with comfy loungers and steps down into the sea.

Additionally the beachfront villa estates, ranging from one to three bedrooms are twice the size of the over waters with direct beach access and larger pools. I recommend experiencing both during your stay.

The action during the day revolves around the gorgeous water. If you wander from your posh bungalow or villa, you can lounge poolside or by the beach, swim, jet ski, paddleboard, kayak, parasail, fish or take an outrigger canoe to the outer reef.

I loved snorkeling the inner lagoon, an aqua sanctuary with a thriving coral ecosystem designed by resident marine ecologist Oliver Martin who also gives remarkable tours. Here I found a dazzling underwater kingdom of multicolored fish of all shapes and sizes frolicking in the calm, crystalline water. Some are so friendly they come right up to your face and almost touch your mask, as if saying – hello, Welcome to Bora Bora.

The food is exceptional, from Polynesian, French to South Pacific fare. I dined on superb Hamachi and rack of lamb at gastronomic eatery Arii Moana. At the more casual Fare Hoa Beach Bar & Grill, addictive bloody mary ceviche, poisson cru, ginger scented tuna medallions, lemongrass coconut rice, and vacherin pineapple plus coconut sorbet with meringue transported me to foodie heaven. The fantastical fire dancers at the Polynesian dinner are a sight to behold.

The cathedral shaped holistic spa nestled at the edge of the lagoon offers glorious nature views. Indulging al fresco in a Polynesian treatment using monoi oil and black pearl powder with the scent of vanilla, was pure Bora Bora Bliss.
