Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance in Los Angeles at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards to present her friend Ruby Rose with the Stephen F. Kolzak award, which according to the organization is given to a “LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance.”
The “Blank Space” singer told the cheering crowd, “Tonight I’m here to honor someone who, through her words and through her actions, proves that she is a force of nature. She tells the world that no one can judge us and no one can stop us. She is a woman of many talents and she is my friend.”
The superstar added, “Ruby breaks down barriers and opens up opportunities for all people, but most importantly, young LGBT people all over the world.”
Rose, who is best known for her role as Stella on “Orange is the New Black,” hugged Swift tightly on stage as she accepted the award and looked genuinely touched by the musician’s sweet introduction.
Swift looked amazing as usual and showed some skin in a modest Haney Gia navy long sleeve gown with a serious thigh-high side slit and front lace insets from their Fall 2016 Collection.
She accessorized with earrings by Melissa Kaye Jewelry and dazzling ring by Graziela Gems.
The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
