It’s impossible not to leave your heart in San Francisco, as cliché as that may sound. There’s something vibrant, beautiful, and even calming about this Northern California city.
Exuding history and culture, The Scarlet Huntington Hotel is a perfect place to stay to experience the essence of San Fran. Nestled atop the trendy Nob Hill district and offering a distinct blend of bold refinement, the spirit of this property continues to have the feel of that decade melded with the modern-day era.
The Scarlet Huntington, which first opened its doors in the 1920s, actually feels like you’re staying at someone’s home, as the close-knit staff quickly become friends you know by name. James, the long-standing doorman, is welcoming and can point you in the right direction anywhere you need to go. Better yet, the hotel provides easy access to the famed cable cars and is close to Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, Union Square, and the Financial District.
The centrally-located hotel boasts 134 spacious rooms with sparkling city views. In addition, four room types, 34 one-bedroom suites, and three signature suites combine old-world charm with a dash of Chinese-inspired design and provocative use of color.
One of the main highlights is dining at Big 4 Restaurant, named after the four influential railroad tycoons who built the Central Pacific Railroad. Our amazing server, Ron, was phenomenal. Not only did he serve up amazing cocktails and cuisine, he never passed by without sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of the hotel and local area, regaling us with funny and interesting stories throughout the night.
And as warm as the people are, the comfort food will also give your heart that fuzzy feeling. Favorites on the menu include chicken pot pie, slow-braised lamb shank, and a seafood bouillabaisse that is out of this world!
There are many places to stay in San Francisco, but a home-away-from-home vibe makes The Scarlet Huntington an ideal choice.
